Year 5 STEM Challenge Winners
In June 2026, four Year 5 pupils attended Altwood School to take part in a STEM Challenge Morning. Throughout the event, teams from multiple schools were challenged to code a Lego robot using a computer, design and build an aerodynamic balloon-powered car using card and balloons, and complete a series of mathematical challenges.
The Oldfield team performed exceptionally well, finishing 1st overall and bringing home the winners' trophy. They also achieved first place in both the Computing and Maths challenges. Congratulations to the team on this fantastic achievement!

Year 4 Magical Maths Competition
On Thursday 4th June 2026, Oldfield sent a team of excellent year 4s to the Rotary Club's annual maths competition. This was the first time the school has taken part in the competition hosted at All Saints School. The team competed against 16 other teams and completed over 24 word problems in under an hour.
